Changes to First Aid Training became effective on 1st October, 2009. 

The Emergency First Aid for the Appointed Person is to be replaced by the 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW).

The First Aid at Work (FAW) 4 day course will be able to be presented over 3 days.

Both certificates will be for 3 years (although it is recommended that holders of both the EFAW and FAW qualification attend 3 hour updates annually prior to formal refresher course at the end of the expiry of certificate).
