Cope Safety Management Limited Company History

J. W. Cope and Company was formed by John Cope in 1989 and began trading from the auspicious surroundings of a garage at the rear of his house.

John, a chartered electrical engineer, became involved in health and safefy via the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH). After completing a number of COSHH assessments for companies this led to undertaking risk assessments that opened the door to the complex world of health and safety.

Building on this initial success the company has steadily grown and now occupies 1500 square feet of office space in Spilsby, Lincolnshire, and employs a team of specialist advisors, supported by dedicated administrators, covering all aspects of health, safety and employment legislation serving customers throughout the country.

The client base covered by Cope incorporates manufacturing, leisure, agriculture, engineering, schools, construction and service industries.

The success of Cope continued in October 2004 with the opening of a branch office in the city of Nottingham and the company became a limited company trading as Cope Safety Management Limited on 1st October 2006.
