Where local exhaust ventilation (LEV) systems are provided for the extraction of dust or fumes etc. the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations require employers to ensure that such equipment is thoroughly examined and tested at least every 14 months. Cope undertake the examination and testing of captor hoods, flow rates in ducting, filter checks etc … thus satisfying this requirement.
If you own or are responsible for maintenance or repairs of commercial premises you must identify all materials containing asbestos and prepare a management plan to reduce the risk from asbestos. Cope can undertake management and refurbishment/demolition surveys.
The Control of Noise at Work Regulations require employers to take all reasonably practicable steps to reduce the level of noise in the workplace. Additional duties include health surveillance of employees exposed to noise with the requirement that hearing tests are carried out. Accurate measurement of noise levels and hearing tests requires the use of specialist equipment operated by trained personnel. Cope can provide these services inhouse.
The SEMA Code specifies that formal inspections of racking systems are carried out every 12 months. Cope can help in this regard, providing a detailed report highlighting areas requiring attention.
The Control of Vibration at Work Regulations place duties on employers who carry out work that is liable to expose employees to risk from vibration to make a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risk.
